Moving some PDFs Onsite

July 24, 2025

Normally this would warrent just a quick RSS feed update, but I have a few extra things to say.

For the main update, I've decided that for now I'll host my free PDFs (all of the ones I've posted as of right now) on my website. I have the extra space & ability to host them due to paying for Neocities supporter, but I am open to finding other means of hosting in the event something happens like being unable to pay for supporter, or if I have to move to another host that doesn't allow PDF downloads.

I am open to suggestions on this as this is admittedly a pretty impulsive change. I don't have comments or guestbooks right now, so I'll leave a link to a post asking for suggestions I made on Bluesky for now: (post asking for suggestions).

In an ideal world, this move would be for organizational purposes only. But the reason I chose to do this is dissapointment in itch.io. Recently, they've had to cave into pressures from payment processors & conservative groups to delist NSFW content (their blogpost). This is not an isolated incident (and a lot of the blame is on payment processors), but I feel there should be some ire towards itch as well due to their handling of this.

I should note that my works are currently unaffected; I don't currently do NSFW beyond personal work (the uptick of NSFW bans like this being one of the reasons why). The main reason I'm looking elsewhere is because this delisting wave also caught things that weren't tagged NSFW/Adult, such as this instance of a SFW dressup game being delisted for featuring the word 'trans'.

I am very dissapointed. In the past, Itch.io had positioned itself as being for marginalized groups with things like charity bundles. Even as a SFW artist who's unaffected, I'm a queer/Nonbinary artist. If an NSFW ban includes trans or otherwise queer stories, I don't feel safe using itch as a platform and I can no longer trust that they're not going to bend over backwards from pressures from bigots going forward. I can no longer trust if their good deeds are coming from a genuine place. I have the luxury of leaving, so I'm taking my works elsewhere.

As mentioned earlier, I'm open to suggestions for hosting options for my free stuff. And I'll see about other options that are fairer to marginalized groups if I want to do paid works. I'm frustrated, and am tired feeling unsafe as a trans individual as seemingly everything keeps turning their backs on us. The next blog post & site update will hopefully be more positive than this, but as it stands, I'm so fucking tired.
