NOTE: Some sites linked below have eyestrain and/or strobe elements, and I marked particularly heavy sites with tooltips Just want to give a heads-up for those affected who still want to surf around (safely ofc)

I'll come back and update this page periodically with more coolio things I found while surfing...

Programs I use

I might go further with this someday, but here's a general list of programs I use a bunch

  • Krita - My Main & favorite drawing software since 2015; Krita is a free & open source drawing program that's just as feature-packed (if not more) than most paid programs.
  • Obsidian - Notetaking app. I like how customizable it is w/themes, plug ins. Oh also all the files are markdown so it's easy to take between programs (an issue I had w/other apps).
  • Firefox - The best browser imho.
  • Thunderbird - Desktop Mail client. Also an ok RSS reader
  • StartAllBack - pretty much fixes the Windows 11 taskbar by adding back customization & bringing back old start menu styles & functionality. It's paid, but it's like $5us at the time of posting
  • Kate - An offline text editor. I use it to write my microblog so I don't drop posts before they're done.

Fandom Related

Or things related to my interests one way or another

  • BreezeWiki - Before we get to my fandoms, fandom Wikis are a nightmare to use, BreezeWiki is a tool that makes it easier & less distracting if you want to look up fandom-related things.
I also recommend the addon Indie Wiki Buddy. a browser plugin that redirects fandom links to a cleaner page, or an independent alternative to fandom all together.
  • RemyWiki - Pretty much the main wiki for most of your BEMANI-related needs.
  • Pop'n Music Database - A Pop'n music fansite that shares character renders & other bonus pop'n goods.
  • Mega Man Wiki - A relatively new wiki for the megaman series. Maybe one day it'll be the main info hub off wikia, who knows?

Web Surfing

Link directories of all kinds be it for small sites, tools, or other cyber curiosities

Webmastery

So you want to build a website? Have a few links to get started!

  • W3Schools - One of the largest sites for learning HTML, CSS, JS, etc.
  • MDN Web Docs - Another large resource for learning webdev things, curated by Mozilla.
  • SadGrl's Webmastery Guide - Another cool resource for learning HTML, more focused around personal sites/Web revival things
  • CodePen - An online realtime code editor
  • Neocities - (Hey! That's where I'm hosted!) I'm linking it here because honestly? it's a great place to start. There's a built-in text editor, easy to use, it's own web-surfing section, & helpful resources to get started.
  • Rarebit - A webcomic template for those who want to host their projects on their own.

Site Credits

Similar to above, but for things used to build this site specifically

  • Bootstrap - The CSS framework most of my site is based on (specifically Bootstrap 5)! It's easy to get a hang of especially for mobile-responsive things.
  • Bootstrap Icons - Current main Iconset
  • BaguetteBox - The lightbox JS i use for my pics
  • Zonelets - An easy-to-use template for running a blog-site! I use this for the everlogs.
  • Feedroll RSS Viewer - A JS that displays your RSS feed onsite.
  • Macy JS - Masonry layout I use for my main galleries
  • Bootstrap responsive collapse snippet - makes collapse elements only collapse on mobile. It's how the main sites nav works.

Misc.

Links that don't fit the above sections, or things that don't have enough to warrant it's own category

  • The Small Web - A page that serves as a simple intro to the "The Small Web"
  • Mod Archive - I love tracker music & it's history a lot & love poking around old mod files
  • Project Gutenberg - An archive of free ebooks, most of which is within the US public domain.
  • Librivox - In a similar vein to the above; public domain books, but in audio book format!
  • CircleJourney's TH Code Editor - For fellow toyhouse users; An online code editor for toyhouse profiles/bootstrap specifically (but with it's features, it's also good for playing around with HTML in general)
  • Totally Sidetalkin' - An ancient meme who's page is still up to this very day. Much unlike the taco phone itself, the N-Gage
  • Every Fucking Bootstrap Website - Ah yes the generic template so many sites use and we've all seen 1000 times at this point
