Happy April Fools! Don’t worry, when the time comes for a site overhaul I’ll be going for something far better suited for my art.

Unlike last year (JADE OC NEWS), I mainly ran this on my own website since layout changes were on my mind last month, so why not use a joke layout as an excuse to shake off the rust for coding.

Though even as a yearly April fools joke, this ended up being more satirical than the last years? If that makes sense. The fish project and OC news were spoofs of memes & meme pages, while this was parodying some of my frustrations with a lot of modern websites. Especially in becoming less suited for artists, whether it's a poorly thought out layout change or terrible algorithms. Is it too much thought for an april fools joke? Not sure, but it's neat being able turn those frustrations into something silly.

Rolling with burgers for the fake ads was based off one of my favorite ads i’ve seen on a (now defunct) streaming site that just said “burger - delicious burger” (here’s a screengrab) . I still don’t know what it means to this day

And what’s a modern social media without ragebait? Thankfully, the fake tweet on the page is exaggerated (the discourse it’s parodying not unfortunately). And In real life I actually like reading up on people’s player character lore. It’s fun to see what other people have made even if it’s for a game I don’t play much

yeah, admittedly I’m tired of this type of advice being thrown around a lot since 90% of the time it tears down artists instead of uplifts. In this house we appreciate both cartoony styles & realism. the pics on the bottom were actually things I did for studies in college

Admittedly might’ve been out-of-place since they’re based on youtube clickbait. But I had fun nonetheless. The slogan on the first pic is based off one showed up on a few LPS fakie packages.

What’s ironic is I said last year I wouldn’t do a project in a short amount of time again, and this year’s project ended up being pretty last minute as well. I guess I’m cursed to do that 😂 But I’m still glad I managed to do something for April Fools this year since it’s my favorite holiday.
